INGREDIENTS:
1 c. butter, softened to room temperature
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 7/8 c. all-purpose flour
6 milk chocolate bars (1.65 oz. each)
1 c. chopped nuts
DIRECTIONS:
In mixing bowl cream together butter and brown sugar until light colored and fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla; gradually beat in flour until smooth and blended. spread evenly on ungreased 10×14×1-inch pan. Dough will be thick, so spread it evenly. If you use a smaller pan you will have to adjust your baking time.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately arrange the chocolate bars evenly over surface of crust. Let stand 5 minutes to soften and then spread evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts (I use walnuts but I’m sure other variety will do just as well). Cook thoroughly and cut into squares.
